What cycle tracking actually gives you

Tracking your period is the starting point. Understanding your cycle is the goal.

Your cycle, day by day

Always know where you are in your cycle, your fertility status, and what comes next

A specific ovulation date

Pregmate predicts your expected ovulation day from your own cycle history instead of a generic window

Patterns across cycles

Your full cycle history in one view, with normal/abnormal flags when anything falls outside the typical range

Everything connected

Period, symptoms, ovulation tests, pregnancy; all on one continuous timeline instead of a “fresh start” every month

Fast logs

Log your period in 10 sec

Tap the days your period starts. The app tracks flow intensity, color, and duration with as much or as little detail as you want. You can always go back and edit, and your period history stays in a clean calendar view.

What you can log:

  • Period start and end dates
  • Flow intensity: Light, Medium, Heavy, or Blood clots
  • Blood color: Light red, Bright red, Crimson red, Dark red, Brown
  • Spotting (logged under vaginal discharge, separate from period flow)
  • Update past entries anytime

Color and intensity details might seem minor. Over time, they help you spot patterns and give your doctor something concrete if you ever need that kind of conversation.

Menstrual symptom tracking, your way

Not everyone tracks the same things. Pregmate lets you log what matters to you and shows how your symptoms line up with each phase of your cycle.

Physical

  • Menstrual flow (intensity + color)
  • Cramps and abdominal pain
  • Headaches and bloating
  • Energy levels
  • Basal body temperature (BBT)
  • Weight

Emotional & other

  • Mood and emotional state
  • Cervical mucus / discharge
  • Sexual activity
  • Notes in your own words

BBT and weight each have dedicated charts under Reports. You’re not just logging numbers; you’re building a picture of how your body changes across your cycle.

Your cycle isn't just dates, it's a pattern

A typical menstrual cycle runs 21 to 35 days. The period itself usually lasts 2 to 7 days. Length can shift from month to month, and a few days’ difference is normal. What matters more than any single cycle is your pattern over time.

If your period doesn’t start on the predicted day, the app shows how many days late you are and offers guidance on possible reasons, so you’re not left wondering.

One cycle gives you a starting point. After three cycles you start to see a pattern. Around six cycles you have a baseline you can rely on.

Cycle 1:  Period logged. First ovulation prediction generated.

Cycles 2–3:  The app starts to recognize your rhythm. Predictions sharpen. Cycle summary begins comparing your data to what’s typical.

Cycles 4+:  You have a real baseline. Normal patterns are clear. Anomalies stand out and get flagged.

Based on a survey of 12,000+ Pregmate users in 2025: 85% reported a better understanding of their cycle patterns within 3 months of consistent tracking.

Period tracking for irregular cycles too

If your cycles aren’t predictable, you’re not broken, and you don’t need a “perfect” cycle for Pregmate to help. Irregular cycles are common with PCOS, thyroid conditions, postpartum recovery, and perimenopause.

Pregmate builds predictions from your actual cycle history instead of a textbook 28‑day model. If your cycles vary, the app works with the data you have. When history is limited, you can enter your average cycle length to help the app get started. The more you log, the more the predictions reflect your real pattern.

If something feels off, your tracked data gives your doctor something concrete to review — not "I think my cycles have been weird," but actual dates, lengths, and trends.

You don’t just predict ovulation. You confirm your LH surge

Cycle tracking tells you when ovulation is likely. The scanner confirms it with real LH data.

What makes Pregmate different

Pregmate does more than predict your period. It tracks your cycle, detects your LH surge with a built-in test scanner, and keeps your history in one place from your first logged period through pregnancy and beyond.

A scanner that reads your ovulation tests for you. Snap a photo of your LH strip and get a T/C ratio, a number that helps track how your LH surge rises and falls across days. No squinting at lines. Just a clear result, saved to your cycle timeline.

Predictions that learn from your body. No 28-day defaults. Pregmate adjusts to your actual cycle history. The more you track, the sharper it gets.

Patterns, not just dates. Cycle summaries flag when your cycle length or period duration falls outside the typical range, so you notice changes early and bring real data to your doctor.

One timeline that doesn't reset. Cycle history, test results, pregnancy, postpartum,  one continuous record. When your journey changes, your history stays.

Reminders that work with you, not against you

Tracking works best when it’s consistent, but life isn’t. Pregmate sends reminders tied to your cycle events, so you log when it matters most instead of on a random schedule.

What the app can remind you about: your period approaching in the next few days, your fertile window opening (a good time to start testing), a nudge to log symptoms or check in if you haven't in a while.

All reminders are optional and can be turned off anytime.

Your data always stays with you

What you log stays with you. Pregmate doesn’t sell your data or share it without your permission, and you can edit or delete anything at any time.

And when your journey changes, your history doesn't disappear.

Your cycles, your pregnancy, the cycles after, and new stages like perimenopause all live on the same timeline, with perimenopause tracking rolling out now. One timeline. Nothing gets reset.

One app for every stage of your journey

Cycle tracking is where it starts. The rest of the app builds from here.

Confirm ovulation

Predict your fertile window and confirm it with real LH data. The more cycles you log, the sharper the prediction.

Read your tests

Scan LH strips with your phone camera. Get a T/C ratio instead of a line you have to interpret yourself.

Track your pregnancy

When you see those two lines, the app is ready. Switch to pregnancy tracking and everything you've logged comes with you.

I have used 3 different ovulation test brands and by far pregmate is the best! Every time I use pregmate I get a clear and accurate reading. Using the app along with the test strips is super easy and no confusion if the test is positive or negative. I am trying to conceive a baby and I pray that pregmate will get me there 👍🏽

I love that you can take a picture of the test strips. It makes it so easy for somebody that is just starting their journey like me. I would really recommend it. You can just buy the test strips on Amazon and download the app.

I love this app so far because it’s easy to use and navigate through. It uses your camera to take a picture of the strips and predicts your ovulation more accurately than my other app. A few nurses recommended it to me at work.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Pregmate app free?

Yes. Period tracking, symptom logging, cycle predictions, and the Ovulation Test Scanner are all free. Premium adds deeper insights based on your data, including cycle length analysis with normal/abnormal flags, symptom breakdown by cycle phase, and advanced reports. It also includes medically reviewed educational content and extra insights to help you better understand your cycle over time.

Do I need to track every day for it to work?

No. Start with your period dates. Add symptoms when you feel like it. Even minimal tracking builds useful history, and the more consistent you are, the sharper your ovulation predictions get.

What happens if my period is late?

If your period doesn't arrive on the predicted day, the app updates your home screen to show how many days late you are, along with your current cycle day. You'll also get guidance on what a late period might mean and suggested next steps. The app sends a reminder a few days before your predicted period and a notification on the expected day.

Can Pregmate help if my cycles are irregular?

Yes. Pregmate tracks your actual cycle history, not a textbook 28-day average. Over time, it learns your personal pattern, even if that pattern isn't consistent. And if something feels unusual, your logged data gives your doctor something concrete to work with.

How is Pregmate different from other period tracker apps?

Most period apps estimate your fertile window using calendar math alone. Pregmate goes further.

Our predictions adapt to your personal cycle history rather than relying on a default 28-day cycle. You can also scan ovulation tests directly in the app, the built-in scanner reads LH strips and calculates a T/C ratio to help track your LH surge over time.

Pregmate also provides personalized insights based on your own data, along with medically reviewed educational content designed to help you better understand your cycle.

What does the Abnormal flag in cycle summary mean?

It means your previous cycle length fell outside the typical range of 21–35 days, or your period was shorter or longer than the typical 2–7 days. It's not a diagnosis, it's a data point. If it shows up repeatedly, it's worth bringing up with your healthcare provider.

What happens to my cycle data when I get pregnant?

Nothing resets. Pregmate tracks your pregnancy and postpartum period as part of the same timeline as your cycles, before, during, and after. Your full history stays intact.

What is a T/C ratio on an ovulation test?

T/C stands for Test line to Control line ratio. When you scan an ovulation test in Pregmate, the app measures the intensity of both lines and gives you a number. A T/C ratio of 1.0 or higher typically indicates a positive result, meaning your LH surge is at or near its peak. The number lets you track how your surge builds and drops across days, instead of trying to judge line darkness by eye.

How long is the luteal phase, and why does it matter?

The luteal phase is the second half of your menstrual cycle, the time between ovulation and the start of your next period. For most women it lasts between 9 and 16 days, with 12–14 days being most common. A consistently short luteal phase (under 9 days) can sometimes affect the ability to conceive, and is worth discussing with a healthcare provider. Pregmate doesn't display luteal phase length as a separate metric, but in TTC mode the app tracks your days past ovulation (DPO), which reflects this phase in practice. Tracking your cycle consistently over time is the most reliable way to understand your personal pattern.

Can I track my cycle after stopping birth control?

Yes, tracking is especially useful during this transition. After stopping hormonal birth control, it can take a few cycles for your natural rhythm to return. Some women see regular cycles within a month, others need several months.  Pregmate tracks whatever your body is doing, without assuming a standard pattern. Logging your periods from day one gives you a real record of how your cycle is re-establishing itself and something concrete to share with your doctor if things feel off.
